Today I've decided to share some artists who I find particularly amazing. I love their work and when I see that they've posted something new it's always really inspiring and daunting at the same time, because they're so good.
Clio is amazing. Amaaaazing. I can't get enough of it. It all has such personality, and it feels almost larger-than-life, if that makes any sense? When she does sequential stuff, the pacing is always tight and the images incredibly dynamic; when she does illustration stuff, it's always gorgeous (unless intentionally not-so) and vibrant and so engaging. She has such a way with characters that I really, really envy. I just love her stuff omg ♥
Some random examples of her work (I can't pick favorites):

If you want to find more of her work, there's
her website
her blog
her livejournal !
She also has a webcomic that's currently on hiatus, but unlike most webcomics that are on hiatus she's actually actively working on it, so yay!
I love Clio. And so should you!
Vera is amazing too. She has such a distinct style that you see one of her illustrations and know it's hers, but at the same time it's fluid and changable enough that she can pick up work elsewhere and really thrive with it (such as storyboarding Coraline). It's gorgeous and her 20s-40s inspired style and the frequent circus-fare hnnnrgh. It's sogood.

She's also working on a graphic novel and her preview here looks sogood:

She is awesome.
Jen was the first person to really inspire me to shift away from copying anime pictures and try developing a style of my own. I was first introduced to her stuff via her old webcomic Strings of Fate, which sadly is not up on the internet anymore. From there I've just been silently stalking her, for which I have no remorse.
Her stuff is so gorgeous and mature-looking, and there's always a sense of a story in her pictures. And did I mention they're pretty? Because they really are.

She is also working on a graphic novel, but sadly the preview image I remember seeing is something I can no longer find. Sigh :(
For more of Jen, you need only look at her

Also, check out the sketchblog they did along with Bill Mudron, Erika Moen and Dylan Meconis (who are also awesome)!
