Wow has time gone by. I'm currently in training to be a Resident Advisor, and the schedule they keep us at is very brutal. Luckily for me I have really awesome people in my life who are doing super nice things for me. For example!

squidattack did this awesome watercolor drawing for me that I fully intend to frame and hang on a wall someday. I love it so so much.

Then spiderstars made me two icons that are so amazing. The only thing that makes it better is that they're icons of things she's drawn for ME. Plus she's working on an ass-kicking Ryxen story that is going to be amazing when finished.

So, got a B+ for my drawing portfolio, which has...humbled me a bit! Favorite excerpt from my professor's comments: "Line work good. Charcoal--you make good marks--watch the mark making with the eraser." It made me smile.

Man, it's been a while since I've updated this thing. I really need to be better about posting here hahahaha

Let's see...I started my "Art and Environment" program yesterday, and...I'm not quite sure how I feel about it still. On the one hand, it seems fantastic--they are going to pay for literally everything, I'm going to have an art piece in a show before I graduate, and I'm going to get to see a lot of artists I'd otherwise be unable to have access to. As well as all the utilities of OSU which, though some seem to argue, is a lot.

On the other hand...UGH the people in the program make me want to tear my hair out! They seem to embody all of the things about artists that really bother me. For example, there was one girl who just reeked of being so pleased with herself. When the lady running the program asked us "what is art?" her hand shot in the hair, and when called on she replied smugly "mind made real." UGH it really doesn't translate without hearing her, but trust me I was rolling my eyes.

And I'm sure I'll get to know these people better and they won't bother me so much--I might even come to like them--but. Just. Ew.

Also, I got my acceptance letter from CCAD today, a financial aid packet from MICA, and my Scholastic Portfolio into the Scholastic Show. Hurray! :)

Edit: I know this might seem really judgmental of me, but it always seems like when people come right out and say that they're vegan, that they're really arrogant. And calling for attention. This, once again, goes back to Annoying!Girl, who said that she was taking the course because "she would have taken AP Bio, except they dissected animals in that class, so she took this instead." Which was bad enough, in my opinion, but then she felt she needed to add that she was a vegan.

Wow. It's been, uh, two months since I last updated this thing. That's just silly.

So my weekend was fun. On Saturday I went to the SPACE (Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo) convention, and wow, that was amazing. There was so much TALENT there! And yet...at the same time there were some where I thought that my work was better than theirs. And that's saying something. D: I have to say that I was glad my dad was with me there, though, because while I got a lot of compliments and free stuff I also got a few awkward comments. Like...two men my dad's age complimented me on my outfit, and they said they especially liked my belt. D8

Overall I had a great time. I am also determined to have something published to sell there next year. That is my goal.

Then on Sunday I went to see my school's production of Anything Goes, which was absolutely amazing. It almost seemed like a professional production. The dancing was great, the orchestra was really good, the singing and acting was AMAZING, and the set was spectacular. I love how amazing our school's drama is. :D

Okay. So. My new goals are to post here at least once a week, post a new piece of art at least once a week, go to the gym after school, and just generally be better. That said, I bring artsssss.

Mmkay. So. Things are going good over here. Worked on my cello a lot last night. Also turned in an application to work at Panera, although I really have a feeling I'm not going to get it because I think they've already hired. Ah well.

I am really excited for the Olympics, though. Seriously, I love watching it. Not for the figure skating. Not for the ice hockey. Nope, I'm in it for the Curling, and maybe a little speed skating and luge. Curling is like the most absurd sport ever and I love it.

Let's see...I'm going with Deena and Kendra to Promusica tonight (as well as Buca DeBeppo or however it's spelled) so that should be loads of fun.
