I think it must be a rule of thumb that whenever I have a big assignment, I'm bound to change at least one icon.

...heh.

[CATEY] ?
[KELLI] Well
[KELLI] You know how when you read Greek Mythology you automatically put it into a modern context?
[KELLI] Well
[KELLI] I was looking at Hephaestus, who's the God of crafts and smiths
[KELLI] And so I thought
[KELLI] "Hephaestus would be one of the Tolls kids!"
[KELLI] HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
[CATEY] HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
[CATEY] Wow
[CATEY] I don't know who that's a slam on
[KELLI] I'm a horrible person

Phew!

Essay was, after getting a grand total of four hours of sleep altogether, finished just in time for class. I think I did a pretty good job on it, and Bethany commented positively on the title, so that's good, at least!

Of course the fact that I feel pretty positively about it means I'm going to get some form of a C or a B, but that's okay. r-really

Alright, now off to finish my art project by six! Wish me luck!

URGH
This is so late and just...not right. Like, I like the ideas, but not so much how they came out. Sorry Kendra, I tried. Also, I had to substitute out the massage thing, as Vincent kept looking like a she-man every time I tried, so I settled on something close? Just don't look at Bayard's face and things should be fine.

The Good: I got to use the excuse "I have to return some videotapes" to someone today. They didn't get the joke. I felt smart for remembering.

The Bad: I broke my glasses. The frame is not fixable, I think.

My icon sums both of these up, I think. :I

Okay. World Civilizations went pretty well, got an A+ on the exam, though I should have done better. Will know what to look out for for next time.

Took my Art History Exam--I think I did okay? I didn't know the dating for any of the work, so I'm sure I lost points for that, but I knew just about everything, though I may have made up parts of the names. Thank god I'm taking World Civilizations at the same time. That's all I'm saying.

Managed to get seven out of ten on a reading quiz I completely forgot about in 3D foundations. That's...good? Thank god I have a basic understanding of Postmodernism, or else that would have been bad.

I...got a B+ on my sculpture. I know I should be happy, considering how he grades, but. Still the shock of getting a B+ in an art class. That hasn't happened since middle school.

Other things about today: I managed to properly embarrass myself in front of a lecturer and a gathering of students. All at once. go go me and my chicken clock.

Alright. 104. I can live with that. Though one of the questions is pretty arguable. Still. 104. Okay.

And apparantly that written portion of my Art History Exam was only really supposed to be one and a half pages. W-whoops? Though at least it's only four with the works cited...

Alright. Now to study Art History until 12:20.

I CAN HAS THE INTERNET ON MY LAPTOP NOW!

You do not know how happy this makes me.

You do not know.

Also, it seems that instead of going to college I have suddenly become aware of my being in a reverse-harem anime slash manga. There is no other way to explain all the attractive boys here on campus I run into/talk to/have class with. Don't think that I'm complaining--trust me, I'm not--but it's just. Surreal.

So how has everyone been?

The Good!
Seeing 300 with Kendra, Catey and Rachel.
The Bad!
Not finishing my MICA essays

The Good!
Got a summer job at the Columbus Zoo.
The Bad!
...it's in the "Food and Beverage" department. Meaning the food court.

The Good!
Beginning salary is $7.25 an hour.
The Bad!
...it's in the "Food and Beverage" department. "Food and Beverage" department.

The Good!
Got Asian Express for dinner.
The Bad!
Had a terrible headache that made me want to vomit and still hasn't gone away despite taking criminal amounts of advil. Also couldn't go to Hartman's birthday party, which is a real bummer :(

In other news, it seems the Columbus Zoo will become a "drug free" environment in 2008. As opposed to, you know, being drug free now.

Back
Man, it's been a while since I've updated this thing. I really need to be better about posting here hahahaha

Let's see...I started my "Art and Environment" program yesterday, and...I'm not quite sure how I feel about it still. On the one hand, it seems fantastic--they are going to pay for literally everything, I'm going to have an art piece in a show before I graduate, and I'm going to get to see a lot of artists I'd otherwise be unable to have access to. As well as all the utilities of OSU which, though some seem to argue, is a lot.

On the other hand...UGH the people in the program make me want to tear my hair out! They seem to embody all of the things about artists that really bother me. For example, there was one girl who just reeked of being so pleased with herself. When the lady running the program asked us "what is art?" her hand shot in the hair, and when called on she replied smugly "mind made real." UGH it really doesn't translate without hearing her, but trust me I was rolling my eyes.

And I'm sure I'll get to know these people better and they won't bother me so much--I might even come to like them--but. Just. Ew.

Also, I got my acceptance letter from CCAD today, a financial aid packet from MICA, and my Scholastic Portfolio into the Scholastic Show. Hurray! :)

Edit: I know this might seem really judgmental of me, but it always seems like when people come right out and say that they're vegan, that they're really arrogant. And calling for attention. This, once again, goes back to Annoying!Girl, who said that she was taking the course because "she would have taken AP Bio, except they dissected animals in that class, so she took this instead." Which was bad enough, in my opinion, but then she felt she needed to add that she was a vegan.

Dear Annoying!Girl,

NO ONE CARES

No love,
Kelli

So winter break is here. And I fell head-over-heels in love with One Piece again. Not only because the latest chapters have been hella-sweet, but because now the One Piece/DBZ crossover is canon. Well, as canon as an AU can be.

I think that's reason to celebrate.
